Privacy Policy
Last updated 21 October 2026. This policy covers the Cabin Fever app for iPhone and iPad and this website.
In short: Cabin Fever doesn't collect any personal data. There are no accounts, no adverts, no analytics and no tracking. Your progress stays on your device, and multiplayer talks only to phones and iPads nearby.
What we collect
Nothing. The developer of Cabin Fever doesn't run any servers for the game, and the app doesn't send information about you or how you play to us or to anyone else.
What's stored on your device
The app keeps a few things in its own storage on your iPhone or iPad so the game remembers them:
- the player name you type in, and your settings (sound, nearby alerts)
- your achievements, your best Solo infinite distance and your chosen accessory
- whether you own the Captain's Licence (so the game works offline)
This never leaves your device, except as described under Game Center below. Deleting the app deletes it.
Playing with people nearby
Multiplayer connects your device directly to other devices nearby using Apple's peer-to-peer networking (Bluetooth and Wi-Fi), with no internet and no servers. While you're in a game, the other players' devices receive your player name, plane colour and accessory, whether you're a captain, the stakes text if you're hosting, and what your plane is doing in the game. Nothing is kept after the game ends.
iOS asks your permission to find devices on the local network the first time you host or join.
Nearby game alerts (optional)
If you turn on "games nearby" alerts, the app uses Bluetooth to listen for a Cabin Fever host close by and shows a notification on your device. When you ping nearby players as a host, your device broadcasts a short Bluetooth signal containing the first few letters of your player name. This doesn't use your location, nothing is stored, and you can turn it off at any time in the game's Settings.
Motion sensor
To shake the game with real turbulence, the app reads your device's motion sensor while it's open. The readings are used on the device straight away and are never stored or sent anywhere.
Game Center
If you're signed in to Game Center, the app sends your achievements and your best Solo infinite distance to Apple's Game Center, so you can compare with friends and see the leaderboard. Game Center is run by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, and you control who sees your profile in Settings > Game Center. We don't receive any information about you from Game Center.
Purchases
The Captain's Licence is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your payment details, name or Apple Account.
Children
Cabin Fever doesn't collect personal data from anyone, including children. Player names and stakes are free text that's only shown to the other players in the same game, on their devices.
This website
This website has no cookies, analytics or tracking. It's hosted by GitHub Pages, which may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security, under GitHub's own privacy statement.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
